Tesla wants to get your Cybertruck ‘unstuck’ with potential feature
Tesla Cybertruck could be the automaker’s most capable vehicle in terms of off-road performance, but that does not mean the company is not always looking for ways to make it even better.
The company is transparent about what it plans to bring to its vehicles, including features and other capabilities.
For example, CEO Elon Musk said a few months back that Tesla would add an “Avoid Highways” feature to its navigation.
Potentially, a new feature teased by the Cybertruck’s lead engineer, Wes Morrill, will come in handy whenever Avoid Highways comes to Tesla vehicles.
On X, Morrill stated Tesla was considering a new “stuck detection” feature that would help suggest some potential techniques on how to get “un-stuck”:
Real people experiencing it. As they said any truck may have been stuck in the same situation. No one is an expert the first time they drive off-road but anyone can learn. Have been considering “stuck detection” to give drivers a pop up suggestion when stuck with ideas on how to…

There are a variety of different terrains that vehicles will drive over, especially when off-roading. Everything from mud to large rocks to sand.
Each specific terrain offers its own challenges.
Sand, for example, requires the driver to air down their tires to gain more traction. Driving inflated tires on sand usually causes them to dig, usually resulting in the vehicle getting stuck.
If a vehicle could detect the type of terrain or even recognize the reason it is stuck, it would be easy to push suggestions to the driver that could help get them out of a tough situation.
The Cybertruck is undoubtedly Tesla’s focus at the moment. Bringing a wide array of new features, including ones that could improve safety like this one, could eventually make it the most well-rounded in Tesla’s lineup.
