Nio’s Tesla Model Y challenger just rolled off the production line
Nio’s brand, Onvo, is challenging the Tesla Model Y with its new all-electric L60 vehicle. The Onvo L60 just rolled off the production line, ready to take on the Model Y in China with a pre-sale price of about $30,800 and a range of up to 345 miles.
The Onvo L60 SUV looks very similar to the Tesla Model Y. The Nio brand boasts that the L60 SUV has better technology and is of higher quality than the Tesla Model Y. The Onvo L60 enables drivers to swap batteries for newer units rather than charging, which some argue is better.
According to CNEV Post, Onvo L60 sales will officially launch in September. Onvo L60 deliveries are expected to start a week after its official sales launch.
The Tesla Model Y is the electric car to beat as its dominance spreads across the global auto market. Renault has thrown in its own challenger with the Scenic E-Tech SUV.
Tesla isn’t going to make it easy for Model Y competitors. The company is revamping its popular SUV with the Model Y Juniper. The new Model Y is already attracting some attention during tests in the wild.
