Rivian held its “Autonomy & AI Day” at noon ET Thursday, with the EV startup announcing it has added LiDAR to its autonomous driving setup. Following the the event, RIVN stock sank in Thursday’s stock market. CEO RJ Scaringe, speaking from Palo Alto, said in late 2026 its “Generation 3” autonomy platform will use AI, along with 65 megapixel cameras, a radar array with an added front-facing long range LiDAR.
