Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed on X late Tuesday that the EV giant’s Model Y robotaxi ride-hailing service fleet will increase in December, but will still be well below Musk’s previous target. Musk, who has been touting Tesla’s AI and autonomous potential, wrote on X Tuesday that “the Tesla Robotaxi fleet in Austin should roughly double next month.” The Tesla CEO’s statement comes as Musk is also on a self-imposed deadline to remove “safety monitors” in its Austin, Texas, robotaxi service, by the end of 2025.
